MobaXterm – X11 server to access VLSI Design Tools for ELEC 422/527 and ELEC 522

The Linux based VLSI Design Tools are installed on the CLEAR servers at Rice University.

In the ELEC 422/527 VLSI Systems Design course, tools from Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens/Mentor Graphics are used for the design of custom VLSI ASICs.

In the ELEC 522 Advanced VLSI course, the Vitis and Vivado design tools from AMD-Xilinx are used for high level synthesis of custom designs prototyped on Xilinx FPGAs.

To access these design tools from the B10 and B12 teaching laboratories in the Ryon Laboratories building at Rice University, the educational version of the MobaXterm X11 server is installed.

Information and a user guide for MobaXterm is available at the Mobatek website: https://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/
